Akron Soul Train welcomes regional artists from various disciplines, encompassing visual, performing, and written arts, to submit their applications. Residencies are typically granted for a duration of one month, although they can be tailored to accommodate the artist's preferences and the scope of their proposed project, allowing for a shorter or longer duration for creation. The selection criteria for residencies are rooted in the artist's artistic excellence, innovation, professionalism, and potential for growth.

Morgan Conservatory
Morgan Conservatory invites artists to apply for the Artist in Residence (AIR) program, funded by the Windgate Foundation. This program supports emerging and established artists working in papermaking, book arts, and printing, offering them the opportunity to explore focused projects in Morgan's facilities. The Morgan Conservatory serves as a working studio, gallery, community gathering place, educational hub, and purveyor of some of the finest handmade papers in the world. Selected artists will receive stipends, 24-hour access to facilities, and other benefits, including potential housing for BIPOC artists through a partnership with ATNSC. Residencies can range from a few weeks to a few months, based on the project's scope.
